a daily basis I conduct and manage site visits/surveys and work directly with
vendors to ensure that OCTO recommendations/design as it relates to power,
router, wireless implementation, switch, and cable requirements are delivered
per SOW. I also recommend hardware requirements and cost analysis. I’m
responsible for the configuration of routers, switches, wireless WI-FI
hardware and various LAN. I perform daily network monitoring, sniffer
captures, troubleshooting network/LAN issues; monitor/create remedy tickets

Lead NOC Engineer - October 1999 to September 2002 Was
assigned to the AIR NATIONAL GUARD domestic enterprise network that consist
of 6 regions and over 100 flying wings and more than 1200 nodes. Isolate and
trouble shoot network hardware and circuit connectivity problems. Performed
Layer 1, 2 and 3 trouble shooting of Frame Relay, ATM, ISDN and IP.
Identify hardware/software configuration problems on Cisco routers, and
NORTEL switches. Work closely with Telco to test the integrity of ISDN, T1,
OC3, and OC12 circuits, CSU/DSU, smart jacks. Configure Cisco routers
running OSPF, BGP and RIP routing protocols. Coordinate new end-site turn-ups
with the Telco and field engineers. Utilize HP Open View and Cisco Works to
monitor network health. Use Remedy system to track network outages. Under
direct supervision, assists in analyzing DOD security requirements, and
develops cost-effective solutions. Prepares work prints and schematics
for the placement, implementation, rearrangement, or removal of firewall
technologies and associated hardware and software configurations, assists in
analyzing, selecting, and designing intrusion systems, security logic, and
monitoring systems connected to wide area networks. Assists in
evaluating firewall technologies, filtering characteristics, and recommends
network center based security systems. Maintained and proactively
troubleshot the NATIONAL GUARD BUREAU distance learning ATM backbone.
Hardware consisted of over 2000 Cisco routers, FORE and FVC switches
throughout the US. Duties consisted of turning up new collocated and
non-collocated classrooms on FORE 200BX and First Virtual Switches.
Configuration of Cisco 4700s ATM interfaces and network monitoring, using NetCool,
CISCOWORKS and HP Open View. Troubleshot connectivity issues such as
SC/ST fiber, over T1and OC3, capturing router statistics. Upgraded and
back-up of routers and switches; by-pass and opening of ports on the
firewalls on a needed basis. Add/updated DNS and Access-List entries
that reside on an SUN station. Verizon Network Integration Field
Engineer – April 1997 – September 1999 Survey,
install and configuration of Cisco 2500s, 5500s and 7000s routers, Cisco
Light Stream 1010s and Catalyst 3000s switches. Configuration of Ascend
IMUX over ISDN for Videoconferencing. Installed 2500 routers,
1900 switches, CSU/DSUs, modems, in over 400 DC public Schools, Prince County
government locations and Georgetown University Hospital Center.
Performed SNA, DLSW , VLAN (5000), ATM, SMDS, frame-relay, Ether

LAN & WAN networks as it relates to high-speed circuits (DS1, DS3,

Server. Dial-up networking and troubleshoots as it relates to the
router, and CSU/DSU. Also troubleshot twisted pairs and 66 and 110
blocks using toner, and other telephony tools. Survey,
install and configuration of Picture Tel and VTEL videoconferencing
equipment using ISDN lines. Working knowledge IBM mainframes as it
relates to connecting Cisco hardware to the IBM controller units. University of Maryland at College Computer
